  • 1 (5-ounce) can tuna, drained (packed in water or oil, your preference)
  • 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Method
 

  1. Open the can of tuna and drain it thoroughly. Place the drained tuna in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Using a fork, flake the tuna into smaller pieces.

  2. Rinse and drain the can of garbanzo beans very well. Add the rinsed garbanzo beans to the bowl with the flaked tuna.

  3. Finely chop the red onion and celery. Add the chopped red onion and celery to the bowl. Chop the fresh parsley and add it to the mixture as well.

  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Whisk these ingredients together until well combined and smooth.

  5. Pour the prepared dressing over the tuna, garbanzo beans, and vegetables in the mixing bowl. Gently fold all the ingredients together until everything is evenly coated with the dressing.
