Ingredients

Creamy Spread
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
Main Fillings
  • 8 large flour tortillas burrito-size
  • 4 cups thinly sliced deli turkey breast about 1 pound
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp or mild, your preference
  • 1 cup finely chopped lettuce Romaine or iceberg work well
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper optional, for extra crunch and color

Equipment

  • Medium Bowl
  • Dry skillet (optional)
  • Damp paper towel (optional)
  • Clean, dry surface
  • Sharp Knife
  • Platter
  • Airtight container

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir well until everything is thoroughly mixed and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to your liking, remembering that the deli turkey and cheddar cheese are already salty.
1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, freshly ground black pepper
  2. To make the tortillas more pliable and prevent them from cracking when rolled, you can lightly warm them. You can do this in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side, or wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for 20-30 seconds.
    8 large flour tortillas
  3. Lay one tortilla flat on a clean, dry surface. Generously spread about 2-3 tablespoons of the prepared creamy spread evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
8 large flour tortillas, 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  4. Arrange a generous layer of thinly sliced deli turkey over the spread, covering as much of the tortilla as possible.
4 cups thinly sliced deli turkey breast
  5. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the turkey. Then, scatter approximately 1/4 cup of chopped lettuce and 2 tablespoons of thinly sliced red bell pepper (if using) over the cheese.
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup finely chopped lettuce, 1/2 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper
  6. Starting from the edge closest to you, tightly roll up the tortilla, tucking in the sides as you go to create a compact roll. Aim for a firm roll to ensure the fillings stay put.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 with the remaining tortillas and fillings. Once all the roll-ups are made, use a sharp knife to slice each roll-up into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  8. Arrange the Turkey Cheddar Lunch Roll Ups on a platter or pack them into individual containers for an easy grab-and-go meal.

Notes

Store leftover roll-ups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Can be frozen for up to 1 month. Reheat gently if desired.
