Taco Ranch Bites

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (8 oz) package crescent roll dough 8 "= 1 biscuit
  • 1/4 cup (2 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup (2 oz) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix

  • chopped cilantro
  • black olives
  • jalapeños
  • salsa
  • guacamole

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until no pink remains. Drain off any excess grease.

  2. Stir in the taco seasoning packet and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and ranch seasoning mix. Stir until well combined and creamy.

  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.

  5. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the taco meat mixture onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle. Top the meat with a sprinkle of the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.

  6. Carefully roll each crescent roll triangle up from the wide end to the pointy end, enclosing the filling. Pinch the seams gently to seal.

  7. Place the rolled Taco Ranch Bites onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Once baked, carefully remove the Taco Ranch Bites from the oven. Drizzle each bite generously with the prepared ranch sauce. Serve immediately with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not drizzle with ranch sauce until just before serving.
