Method
- In a medium-sized bowl or directly in your serving jar (a mason jar works perfectly!), combine the rolled oats and chia seeds. Stir them together to ensure they are evenly distributed.1/2 cup Rolled Oats, 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
- Pour in the milk and yogurt. Add the vanilla extract and your chosen sweetener (honey or maple syrup).1 cup Milk, 1/2 cup Plain Yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract, 1 teaspoon Honey or Maple Syrup
- Stir all the ingredients together until well combined. Make sure there are no clumps of oats or chia seeds. The mixture should start to thicken slightly as the chia seeds absorb liquid.
- Gently fold in the chopped fresh or frozen strawberries. If using frozen strawberries, they will release their juices overnight, adding more flavor and a beautiful pink hue to your oats. If you prefer larger pieces of strawberry, you can reserve some to stir in just before serving.1/2 cup Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
- Pour the mixture into your serving jar(s) or airtight container(s). This is also a great time to add any other desired mix-ins like a pinch of cinnamon or a teaspoon of nut butter.
- Cover the jar(s) securely with a lid or plastic wrap. Place them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight. This allows the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid, creating a thick, pudding-like consistency.
- In the morning, give your Strawberry Overnight Oats a good stir. If they are too thick for your liking, you can add a splash more milk. Top with fresh strawberry slices, a spoonful of granola, or any other favorite toppings and enjoy cold!fresh strawberry slices, sprinkle of granola, dollop of extra yogurt, few slivers of almond
Notes
Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Add toppings just before serving. Reheating is generally not necessary but can be done gently over low heat if preferred.
