Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat or 2% recommended for creaminess
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder approximately 30g
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened, light or full-fat
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or your preferred milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons sweetener of choice honey, maple syrup, stevia, erythritol – adjust to taste
Optional garnishes
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish
  • graham cracker crumbs a sprinkle for garnish
  • whipped cream a dollop for garnish

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Ensure your frozen strawberries are ready to go. If using fresh strawberries, you may want to add a few ice cubes to achieve a colder, thicker shake. Soften the cream cheese slightly at room temperature for easier blending.
1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/4 cup cream cheese
  2. In your blender, add the unsweetened almond milk, Greek yogurt, and softened cream cheese.
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup cream cheese
  3. Next, add the vanilla extract, your chosen sweetener (start with 1 tablespoon and adjust later if needed), and the scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder. If you're using vanilla protein powder, you might need less sweetener. If using unflavored, the vanilla extract will really shine through.
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1-2 tablespoons sweetener of choice, 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  4. Add the frozen strawberries to the blender.
    1 cup frozen strawberries
  5. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high speed until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the shake is completely smooth and creamy. You shouldn't see any chunks of fruit or pockets of cream cheese. This usually takes about 30-60 seconds, depending on your blender’s power.
  6. If the shake is too thick, add another splash of almond milk (1 tablespoon at a time) and blend again. If it’s not sweet enough, add your preferred sweetener and blend once more to incorporate. Taste and adjust as needed to achieve your perfect strawberry cheesecake flavor profile.
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1-2 tablespoons sweetener of choice
  7. Pour the luscious Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Shake into a glass. For an extra special treat, garnish with a few fresh strawberry slices, a sprinkle of crushed graham cracker crumbs, or a small dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy immediately!
