Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 mocha
Course: Beverage, Coffee Drink, Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup high-quality white chocolate chips (or white chocolate syrup, see notes below)
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 shots freshly brewed espresso (approximately 2 ounces, cooled)
  • 1 cup cold milk (whole milk, 2%, or non-dairy alternatives like almond or oat milk work well)
  • Ice cubes
Optional for topping
  • Whipped cream
  • white chocolate shavings

Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Small microwave-safe bowl
  • Espresso machine (or coffee maker)
  • Tall glass
  • Long spoon
  • Straw (optional)

Method

  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of whole milk. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. Be careful not to overheat, as white chocolate can seize. If using store-bought white chocolate syrup, you can skip this step and directly measure out the required amount.

  2. Brew two shots of espresso according to your espresso machine's instructions. If you don't have an espresso machine, brew a very strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. Allow the espresso or coffee to cool down for a few minutes. This prevents the ice from melting too quickly and diluting your drink.
    2 shots freshly brewed espresso
  3. In a tall glass, add the cooled white chocolate sauce (or syrup) to the bottom.
1/4 cup high-quality white chocolate chips
  4. Pour the cooled espresso (or strong coffee) over the white chocolate sauce.
    2 shots freshly brewed espresso
  5. Gently stir the white chocolate sauce and espresso together until they are well incorporated. This ensures the white chocolate flavor is distributed evenly throughout your mocha.

  8. Stir the mixture well to combine all the layers. You can use a long spoon or a straw to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  9. If desired, top your Starbucks White Chocolate Iced Mocha with a swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of white chocolate shavings for an extra touch of indulgence.

Notes

If using store-bought white chocolate syrup, you can skip the steps to prepare the white chocolate sauce and directly measure out the required amount. It is recommended to consume your Starbucks White Chocolate Iced Mocha immediately after preparation. If you have leftovers, store them in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. You can add a few fresh ice cubes if you prefer it colder. Freezing is not recommended.
