Ingredients

Tea Base
  • 2 cups Water
  • 4 bags Earl Grey Tea High quality recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Loose Leaf Black Tea Optional, for stronger base
Sweetener & Flavor
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Cherry Syrup Or cherry extract mixed with simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup Milk Whole milk, oat milk, or preferred creamer
Serving
  • 1 1/2 cups Ice Cubes For serving

Method

Instructions
  1. Steep the Tea: Bring the 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the 4 tea bags and optional loose leaf tea. Cover and steep for exactly 5 minutes for a strong, non-bitter brew.
  2. Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still hot, remove the tea bags/leaves. Immediately stir in the granulated sugar until fully dissolved. This creates a concentrated tea syrup.
  3. Chill the Base: Allow the sweetened tea base to cool slightly at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a container and refrigerate until completely chilled (at least 30 minutes).
  4. Assemble: Once chilled, divide the cherry syrup evenly between two tall glasses filled almost to the top with ice cubes.
  5. Combine: Pour the chilled Earl Grey tea base equally over the ice in each glass. Top each serving with 1/4 cup of your preferred milk.
  6. Serve: Stir well to combine all layers. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. Serve immediately for a refreshing experience.

Notes

For a clearer tea, allow the hot tea to cool to lukewarm before adding milk, rather than pouring directly over ice, which can cause cloudiness. Adding a few fresh or frozen cherries as garnish enhances the presentation.
