Ingredients

DIP BASE
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Chives
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
OPTIONAL TOPPING
  • 1/4 cup Crispy Fried Onions

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish or a small oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and fully incorporated. Ensure there are no lumps of cream cheese remaining.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, dried chives, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the base.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer. If using, sprinkle the optional crispy fried onions evenly over the top.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and slightly bubbly around the edges.
  6. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with soft pretzels or sturdy dipping chips.

Notes

For an extra savory kick, you can add 1/4 cup of finely crumbled cooked bacon to the mixture before baking. This dip is best served warm directly from the oven.
