Method
- Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the package of dinner rolls in half horizontally. You'll want to keep the rolls connected as much as possible to form a single "sheet" of tops and a single "sheet" of bottoms.
- Place the bottom halves of the rolls, cut-side up, onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This will serve as the base for your sliders.
- Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the bottom halves of the rolls. Next, generously layer the mini pepperoni on top of the cheese, ensuring each slider gets a good portion.8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, 4 ounces mini pepperoni
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional red pepper flakes.1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted, 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, Pinch red pepper flakes
- Drizzle or brush this seasoned butter mixture evenly over the pepperoni and cheese. Then, carefully place the top halves of the rolls onto the sliders, cut-side down, pressing gently to secure them.
- Cover the baking sheet loosely with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and gooey, and the rolls are lightly golden brown.
- Once baked, remove the foil and let the sliders rest for a minute or two before slicing them apart into individual portions. Serve immediately while the cheese is perfectly melted and the flavors are at their peak.
Notes
To store leftover Pepperoni Pizza Sliders, allow them to cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, place them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Refrigerate them for up to 2-3 days. To reheat, place the sliders on a baking sheet and warm them in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 5-10 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is re-melted. Microwaving is also an option for a quicker reheat, but the rolls may become softer. For future meals, you can freeze the assembled sliders (before baking) or the baked leftovers. Wrap them very well in plastic wrap and then foil, and freeze for up to 1-2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating as directed above.
