Method
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. This prevents sticking and ensures your mini pizzas bake evenly.
- Lightly flour a clean surface. Gently unroll or stretch your pizza dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter (about 3-4 inches wide), cut out as many heart shapes as possible from the dough. Reroll scraps if necessary to get more hearts. Arrange the heart-shaped dough bases on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- Spread a thin, even layer of pizza sauce or marinara sauce over each heart-shaped pizza base, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. Don't overload the sauce, as this can make the pizza soggy.1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each mini pizza. Follow with a light dusting of grated Parmesan cheese for an extra layer of savory flavor.1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Now for the fun part! If you're using toppings, arrange them artfully on top of the cheese. Mini pepperoni slices are perfect for adding a classic pizza touch, while olives and peppers add color and texture. For a sweeter touch, consider a few small pieces of cherry tomato.mini pepperoni, sliced black olives, chopped bell peppers, cherry tomatoes halved
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them as they bake, as oven temperatures can vary.
- Carefully remove the Mini Heart Pizzas from the oven. If using fresh basil, scatter the leaves over the hot pizzas immediately after they come out of the oven. Let them cool for just a minute or two before serving – they're best enjoyed warm!fresh basil leaves
