  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream full fat recommended
  • 1/2 cup whipped topping thawed
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime zest from about 2-3 limes
  • Fresh lime slices for garnish
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish

Method
 

  1. Combine the lime gelatin mix with boiling water and stir until dissolved. Stir in the lime juice and tequila (if using).

  2. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to package directions. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan.

  4. Slowly pour the gelatin mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
