Ingredients

Latte Components
  • 1 cup Water For brewing tea
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag Or 1 tsp loose leaf tea
  • 1/2 cup Milk Dairy or non-dairy substitute like oat or almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons Sugar or Maple Syrup Adjust to taste
Garnish (Optional)
  • 1 pinch Dried Lavender Buds For topping

Method

Instructions
  1. Heat the water in a small saucepan until just simmering, or boil it in a kettle.
  2. Place the Earl Grey tea bag (or loose leaf tea in an infuser) into a mug. Pour the hot water over the tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength. Remove the tea bag/infuser.
  3. While the tea is steeping, heat the milk in the same small saucepan over medium heat until warm and slightly frothy, about 2-3 minutes. Do not boil.
  4. If you have a milk frother, froth the warm milk until light and airy. If not, vigorously whisk the milk until bubbles form.
  5. Stir the vanilla extract and your choice of sweetener (sugar or syrup) directly into the brewed, hot tea base.
  6. Slowly pour the frothed milk over the tea mixture, holding back the foam initially. Once the mug is nearly full, top with the remaining foam.
  7. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of dried lavender buds over the foam for an extra aromatic touch. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a stronger floral note, incorporate 1/4 teaspoon of culinary lavender buds into the tea while it steeps. Use high-quality Earl Grey for the best bergamot flavor.
