Ingredients

Tater Tots Base
  • 28 oz bag Frozen Tater Tots
Toppings
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese Optional, for extra meltiness
  • 6 slices Bacon Cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream For topping
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Chives Finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt To taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. Spread the frozen tater tots in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake according to package directions (usually 18-22 minutes), flipping halfway through, until they are deeply golden brown and crispy.
  3. While the tots are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and then crumble into small pieces.
  4. Remove the crispy tater tots from the oven. Immediately sprinkle both the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses evenly over the hot tots.
  5. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  6. Carefully remove the sheet from the oven. Garnish generously with the crumbled bacon, a dollop of sour cream (or drizzle), and the freshly chopped chives. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of garlic powder or onion powder on the tots before adding the cheese. If you prefer a liquid topping, mix the sour cream with a splash of milk to create a drizzle.
