Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix.
- Using an electric mixer or a sturdy whisk, blend the ingredients on medium speed until completely smooth and creamy. Ensure no lumps of cream cheese remain.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate or a medium serving dish. This forms the first layer.
- Gently spoon the salsa over the cream cheese layer, distributing it evenly without disturbing the base layer too much.
- Top the salsa generously with the shredded Cheddar Jack cheese, followed by the diced black olives, diced tomatoes, and finally, the chopped green onions.
- Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly before serving. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or vegetables.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a layer of refried beans (mixed with a dash of hot sauce) underneath the sour cream layer. This dip must be served cold.
