Ingredients

  • 1 package regular Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1/3 cup red or pink candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
  • red or pink sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Electric mixer
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Fork
  • Toothpick

Method

  1. Take your package of Oreo cookies and carefully separate the cream filling from the cookie wafers. Place the cookie wafers into a food processor and pulse until they are finely crushed into crumbs. You should have about 2 cups of finely ground Oreo crumbs. Discard the cream filling or save it for another use.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
8 ounces cream cheese, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  3. Add the finely crushed Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese mixture. Mix on low speed until everything is thoroughly combined and a stiff dough forms. It should be firm enough to roll into balls.

  4. Roll the Oreo mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter. You can use a small cookie scoop or your hands for this. Place the formed truffle balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Once all the balls are formed, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This chilling step is crucial to help the truffles firm up, making them easier to coat.
  6. Melt the white chocolate chips or melting wafers. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until smooth and completely melted. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
12 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  7. Once the truffles are firm, dip each one into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Use a fork or a toothpick to help roll and lift the truffles. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
12 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  8. Place the coated truffles back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. If you like, while the white chocolate is still wet, immediately sprinkle them with red or pink sprinkles for a festive touch. For an extra pop of color, you can melt red or pink candy melts and drizzle them over the white chocolate-coated truffles.
1/3 cup red or pink candy melts, red or pink sprinkles
  9. Let the coated truffles sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. You can also pop them back into the refrigerator for about 5-10 minutes if you're in a hurry.
  10. Your delightful Heart Oreo Truffles are now ready to be enjoyed!
