Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (whey, plant-based, or collagen)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative like coconut yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (optional)
  • ice cubes (optional, for a colder, thicker consistency)

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Start by washing and hulling your fresh strawberries. Slice them into bite-sized pieces. If using frozen strawberries, you can use them directly from the freezer for a thicker, colder snack without needing ice.
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  2. In a blender, add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract. If you prefer a sweeter snack, now is the time to add your honey or maple syrup.
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative like coconut yogurt), 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  3. Next, add your scoop of protein powder to the blender. Follow this with the chia seeds. The chia seeds will not only add texture but also a boost of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (whey, plant-based, or collagen), 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  4. Add your sliced fresh strawberries (or frozen strawberries) to the blender.
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  5. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high speed until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture is smooth and creamy. If you desire a thicker consistency, you can add a few ice cubes and blend again. If it's too thick, add a splash of water or milk of your choice to reach your desired texture.

  6. Once blended, give it a quick taste. Adjust sweetness if needed with a touch more honey or maple syrup, or add a pinch of cinnamon for an extra flavor dimension.
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, 1 pinch cinnamon
  7. Pour your Healthy Strawberry Protein Snack into a glass or bowl and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

This snack is best enjoyed fresh. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze portions for up to 1 month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or blend frozen portions with a splash of liquid and ice for a thicker consistency.
