- Pat the beef chuck roast dry with paper towels. This helps ensure a better sear.1.5 lbs boneless beef chuck roast
- Heat a tablespoon of oil (like vegetable or canola) in a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the beef chuck roast in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until a deep brown crust forms. This step is crucial for developing flavor.1.5 lbs boneless beef chuck roast, 1 tablespoon oil
- While the beef is searing, mince your four cloves of garlic.4 cloves garlic
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, honey, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined and smooth.1/4 cup unsalted butter, 4 cloves garlic, 1/4 cup honey, 1/3 cup your favorite BBQ sauce, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the seared beef in the skillet. Ensure the beef is mostly submerged in the sauce.1.5 lbs boneless beef chuck roast
- Cover the skillet tightly with a lid or aluminum foil. Transfer to a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C). Cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender and shreds easily. You can also do this in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
- Once the beef is tender, carefully remove it from the skillet using tongs and place it on a cutting board or in a large bowl. Use two forks to shred the beef into bite-sized pieces.
- Return the shredded beef to the skillet with the remaining sauce. Stir to coat the shredded beef evenly with the flavorful BBQ sauce. Let it simmer gently for another 5-10 minutes over low heat, allowing the flavors to meld.
- While the beef is simmering, warm your tortillas. You can do this in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side, in the microwave wrapped in a damp paper towel for 30-second intervals, or briefly over an open flame on a gas stove for a smoky char.12-16 small corn or flour tortillas
- Spoon the Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef into the warm tortillas.12-16 small corn or flour tortillas
