  2. Using a rolling pin or a flat-bottomed glass, gently flatten each bread slice. You want to make it thin enough to roll easily without tearing.

  3. Generously spread about 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto each flattened bread slice, leaving a small border along one of the longer edges.

  4. Starting from the edge with Nutella, tightly roll up each bread slice to create a compact roll. Press gently to seal the seam.

  5. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon until well combined. This classic custard base is what gives the French toast its signature flavor and texture.
2 large eggs, 1/4 cup milk (whole milk or 2% recommended for richness), 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. Carefully dip each Nutella-filled bread roll into the egg wash, ensuring it is fully coated. Let any excess egg wash drip off.
8 slices soft bread (white bread or brioche work best), 1/2 cup Nutella, 2 large eggs, 1/4 cup milk (whole milk or 2% recommended for richness), 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
    2 tablespoons butter
  8. Place the dipped rolls seam-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and the Nutella is warm and slightly melty. You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet as needed for subsequent batches.
    2 tablespoons butter
  9. Once cooked, remove the French Toast Rolls from the skillet.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and extra cinnamon if desired. Serve immediately with fresh berries or whipped cream for an extra touch of indulgence.
