- Wash the cucumber thoroughly. Trim off the ends and then slice the cucumber into 1/2-inch thick rounds. If your cucumber is particularly large or has a lot of seeds, you may want to scoop out some of the seeds with a spoon to avoid a watery bite, though for most cucumbers, this step isn't strictly necessary. Lay the cucumber slices flat on a plate lined with paper towels and pat them gently to absorb any excess moisture. This will help prevent the cream cheese from sliding off.8 ounces cream cheese
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, finely chopped fresh dill, finely chopped fresh chives, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Use a spoon or a spatula to mix these ingredients until they are well combined and smooth. Taste the mixture and adjust the salt and pepper as needed to suit your preference. You want a flavorful, herbaceous cream cheese spread.8 ounces cream cheese
- Using a small spoon or a piping bag fitted with a star tip (for a fancier presentation, though not required), generously dollop or pipe a swirl of the cream cheese mixture onto the top of each cucumber slice. Aim for a mound of cream cheese that is roughly the same size as the cucumber slice.8 ounces cream cheese
- Carefully sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over the top of the cream cheese on each cucumber bite. Ensure each bite is well-coated with the seasoning for maximum flavor and that signature everything bagel crunch.8 ounces cream cheese
- Your Everything Bagel Cucumber Bites are ready to be served! For the best texture and flavor, it’s recommended to serve them fairly soon after assembling. You can also chill them in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld slightly and the cream cheese to firm up a touch more.
Notes
It's best to assemble for optimal crispness. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days maximum. They are not recommended for freezing. No reheating needed.
