Ingredients
Method
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix them together until they are smooth and well incorporated.1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened, 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
- Sprinkle the packet of taco seasoning into the cream cheese and sour cream mixture. Stir thoroughly until the seasoning is evenly distributed, infusing the base with that classic taco flavor.1 packet (about 1 ounce) taco seasoning
- In a separate microwave-safe bowl, gently warm the can of refried beans. You can also warm them in a small saucepan on the stovetop over low heat. Once warm, spread the refried beans evenly as the first layer over the creamy base in your serving dish.1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
- For an extra layer of flavor and a subtle kick, add the can of diced green chilies (including the liquid) over the refried beans. This adds a lovely zest without overwhelming the dish.1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies, undrained
- Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese all over the refried bean and chili layer. Ensure an even coating for that perfect melted cheesy goodness.1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Scatter the chopped fresh tomatoes and sliced black olives over the cheese layer. These fresh elements add a burst of color and a refreshing contrast to the richer layers.½ cup chopped fresh tomatoes, ¼ cup sliced black olives
- Cover the Easy Taco Dip tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully. Before serving, you can garnish with thinly sliced green onions for an extra pop of freshness and color, if desired. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or crackers.thinly sliced green onions, for garnish
Notes
The flavors will continue to meld, becoming even more delicious over the first couple of days. Freezing is not ideal for the freshest texture. Reheating is best done gently to avoid becoming oily.
