- C Place the entire package of Oreo cookies (cream filling and all) into a food processor. Pulse until the cookies are finely crushed into coarse crumbs. Alternatively, you can place them in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.1 package Oreo cookies
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and green food coloring.8 ounces cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon green food coloring
- Mix the ingredients together using a rubber spatula or your hands until everything is thoroughly combined and a uniform green dough forms. If the mixture seems too dry, you can add another tablespoon of softened cream cheese. If it’s too wet, add a tablespoon of powdered sugar.
- Roll the green dough into small, bite-sized balls, about 1-inch in diameter. You should aim to get around 30-36 balls depending on your desired size. Place the rolled balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the baking sheet with the rolled Oreo balls into the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step is crucial for the balls to firm up, making them easier to dip.
- While the balls are chilling, melt the white chocolate chips or melting wafers. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler.1 cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
- Once the white chocolate is melted and the Oreo balls are firm, dip each ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. You can use a toothpick or a fork to help dip and lift the balls.1 cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
- Immediately after dipping, while the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the balls with green and red sprinkles if desired.green sprinkles, red sprinkles
- Place the dipped and decorated balls back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow them to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by placing them back in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
Notes
Store your Easy No-Bake Grinch Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for up to a week. The cream cheese in the recipe requires refrigeration to maintain their texture and prevent spoilage. If freezing, it's best to freeze them before dipping them in chocolate, if possible, or ensure the chocolate coating is completely set. Place the balls in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be kept frozen for up to 2 months. To enjoy, thaw frozen balls in the refrigerator overnight.
