- Pour the entire jar of marinara sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s mostly covered.1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce)
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours, or on LOW for 5-6 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on your slow cooker's model and the size of your chicken pieces.
- About 15-20 minutes before serving, remove the lid from the slow cooker. Arrange the slices or shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken and sauce. - Replace the lid and continue to cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker. You can shred it with two forks directly in the sauce, or serve the chicken breasts whole.
