- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a small oven-safe baking dish (an 8x8 inch or a similar small casserole dish works perfectly).
- Ensure your thawed frozen spinach is as dry as possible. You can do this by pressing it between layers of paper towels, squeezing it firmly in your hands over the sink, or even using a clean kitchen towel to wring out the excess moisture.10 ounces frozen chopped spinach
- In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Use a sturdy spoon or a spatula to cream these ingredients together until they are smooth and well combined.1 8-ounce block cream cheese, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream
- Add the squeezed-dry spinach to the cream cheese mixture. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, and the pinch of nutmeg (if using).10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 clove clove garlic, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, pinch nutmeg
- Season the mixture generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste. Remember that the cheeses will add some saltiness, so start with a moderate amount and adjust as needed.salt, freshly ground black pepper
- Gently fold all the ingredients together until everything is evenly distributed throughout the creamy base. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the dip heavy.
- Spoon the spinach dip mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle a little extra grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the dip. This will create a lovely golden-brown, bubbly crust as it bakes.1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through, bubbly around the edges, and the cheese on top is golden and slightly melted.
- Once removed from the oven, let the Creamy Spinach Dip rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the dip to set slightly, making it easier to scoop.
- Serve hot with your favorite dippers such as tortilla chips, pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.
Notes
This dip can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and reheated in the oven or microwave. It can also be frozen for up to 2-3 months.
