Ingredients

For the Creamy Orange Dip
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt full fat recommended
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar or adjust to taste
  • 1 large orange for zest and juice (about 1 tbsp zest, 2 tbsp juice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange extract (optional) for extra intense flavor
For Serving
  • 2 lbs mixed fresh fruit e.g., strawberries, grapes, apple slices, or melon

Method

Instructions
  1. Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened. Place the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Using an electric mixer (handheld or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment), beat the cream cheese on medium speed until it is completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. In a small bowl, zest the orange, taking care to only get the bright orange part, not the bitter white pith. Then, juice the orange to yield about 2 tablespoons of fresh juice.
  4. Add the powdered sugar, Greek yogurt, orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and optional orange extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat on low speed until just combined, then increase to medium speed and beat for 1-2 minutes until the dip is light, fluffy, and uniform in color.
  5. Taste the dip and add a small amount more powdered sugar if you prefer it sweeter. If the dip seems too thick, add half a teaspoon of extra orange juice to loosen it slightly.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
  7. Serve chilled alongside your favorite assortment of fresh fruit for dipping.

Notes

For a lighter dip, you can substitute half of the cream cheese with whipped topping (Cool Whip), added at the very end. This dip is best consumed within 3 days and should be kept refrigerated.
