Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures a nice, even bake for your dip.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until the ingredients are smoothly incorporated and there are no visible lumps of cream cheese.8 ounces cream cheese, softened, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese into the cream cheese mixture. Stir until the cheeses are evenly distributed throughout the base.1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Add the chopped cooked bacon, chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and the optional cayenne pepper to the bowl. Stir everything together until all the ingredients are well combined.2 tablespoons chopped cooked bacon, 1 tablespoon chopped chives, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, Pinch black pepper, Pinch cayenne pepper
- Pour the dip mixture into a small oven-safe baking dish or a cast-iron skillet. Spread it out evenly with the back of your spoon or spatula.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the top is lightly golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, let the Cream Cheese Warm Crack Dip cool slightly for a few minutes before serving. It's best enjoyed hot with your favorite dippers.
Notes
Leftover dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven. Freezing is not ideal.
