- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, finely chopped chives (if using), black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the cream cheese is smooth and spreadable.8 ounces cream cheese, softened, 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1 pinch garlic powder
- Lay out a slice of hard salami on a clean, flat surface.4 ounces thinly sliced hard salami
- Using a butter knife or a small spatula, spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the salami slice. Be sure to go all the way to the edges.4 ounces thinly sliced hard salami
- Starting from one end, carefully and tightly roll up the salami slice. Ensure the roll is compact to hold its shape.4 ounces thinly sliced hard salami
- Repeat steps 2-4 with the remaining salami slices and cream cheese mixture until all ingredients are used.8 ounces cream cheese, softened, 4 ounces thinly sliced hard salami
- Once all the salami slices are rolled, you can serve them immediately. For a slightly firmer texture and more cohesive roll, you can place them on a plate and chill them in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes before serving.
- If desired, you can slice the rolled-up salami into bite-sized pieces (about 1/2 inch thick) for easier serving and a more visually appealing presentation.
