Ingredients

For the Tea
  • 4 cups Water Filtered
  • 4 bags Green Tea Or 4 teaspoons loose leaf
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or Maple Syrup Adjust to taste
For the Fruit Infusion & Serving
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Blackberries
  • 1 cup Ice Cubes

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat.
  2. Steep the 4 green tea bags (or loose leaf tea in an infuser) in the hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on desired strength. Do not over-steep to avoid bitterness.
  3. Remove the tea bags/infuser. Stir in the honey or maple syrup until fully dissolved while the tea is still warm.
  4. In a separate bowl, lightly muddle (gently crush) the blueberries and blackberries with the lemon juice to release their flavor. Do not mash completely.
  5. Combine the steeped green tea mixture with the muddled fruit mixture in a pitcher. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill thoroughly and allow flavors to meld.
  6. To serve, fill four tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled tea mixture evenly over the ice, ensuring some fruit pieces are distributed into each glass. Garnish with fresh lemon slices or mint sprigs if desired.

Notes

For a stronger berry flavor, simmer the berries and honey in a 1/2 cup of water for 2 minutes before adding the brewed tea. Strain before chilling if you prefer a pulp-free beverage.
