Description

A simple and convenient make-ahead pizza dough that can be prepared in advance, refrigerated, and rolled out when ready to bake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  6. When ready to use, let the dough sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before rolling out.

Notes

For best results, use bread flour for extra chewiness. Dough can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
