Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Shape into 6 patties.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter. Sear patties 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to the baking dish.
- In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Sauté onions for 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Sprinkle in flour, stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream. Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.
- Pour gravy over patties. Top with shredded cheese (if using).
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a crispier top, if desired.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- You can add sliced mushrooms or frozen peas to the gravy for added veggies.
- For a gluten-free version, use cornstarch instead of flour.
- Pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or biscuits.
