Description

Festive Rice Krispie treats shaped into pumpkins, perfect for Halloween parties and guaranteed to delight both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 10 ounces marshmallows (about 40 large marshmallows or 5 cups mini marshmallows)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Orange food coloring (gel recommended)
  • Green M&Ms
  • Pretzel sticks (optional, for stems)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a large mixing bowl, spatula, and your hands with cooking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add marshmallows, stirring until smooth and fully melted (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in orange food coloring until evenly blended.
  5. Fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  6. Grease your hands and shape warm mixture into pumpkin shapes.
  7. Press a green M&M or pretzel stick into the top as the pumpkin stem (use extra green M&Ms for leaves if desired).
  8. Place pumpkins on parchment or wax paper to set for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Once firm, serve and enjoy! Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for vibrant pumpkin orange. Shape while mixture is still warm but cool enough to handle.
