Description

This Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread is moist, warmly spiced, and studded with sweet chocolate chips, making it the perfect treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in pumpkin puree until evenly incorporated.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use pure pumpkin puree—not pumpkin pie filling. Baking times may vary, so start checking at 50 minutes.
