- 1 head garlic (10–12 cloves), peeled and crushed
- 2 tablespoons fresh turmeric, grated (or 1½ tsp turmeric powder)
- 1 small thumb‑sized piece fresh ginger, grated
- ½ cup raw honey (preferably local or wildflower)
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”)
- ½ lemon, juiced (optional for brightness)
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Sterilize a 16 oz mason jar and lid with hot soapy water or by simmering in boiling water.
- Peel and crush garlic cloves. Grate fresh turmeric and ginger.
- Layer garlic, turmeric, ginger, and cayenne in the jar.
- Pour in honey to coat the roots, then add apple cider vinegar to submerge solids.
- Add lemon juice (if using) and black pepper. Seal the jar and shake to mix.
- Label with the date and store in a cool, dark place for 10–14 days, shaking daily.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar and refrigerate.
- Take 1 tablespoon daily for prevention or up to 3 tablespoons per day if ill. Use in tea, soups, or straight.
