This spicy, zesty homemade Fire Cider is a natural immune-boosting tonic perfect for cold and flu season. Packed with ginger, garlic, horseradish, and apple cider vinegar, it’s a powerful wellness shot with a fiery kick!

- 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar (with the “Mother”)
- 1/2 cup fresh Ginger, grated or finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh Horseradish, grated or finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup Onion, chopped
- 1–2 fresh Jalapeño Peppers, sliced (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1 Lemon, sliced
- 1 Orange, sliced
- 1/4 cup Honey (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp Turmeric powder (optional)
- 1 tsp Black peppercorns (optional)
- Rosemary bunch (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and prepare all fruits and vegetables as directed.
- Combine ginger, horseradish, garlic, onion, jalapeño, lemon, orange, turmeric, black peppercorns, and rosemary in a clean quart-sized jar.
- Pour in apple cider vinegar until all ingredients are fully submerged.
- Seal the jar with a non-reactive lid and shake well.
- Store in a cool, dark place for 3 to 6 weeks, shaking daily.
- Strain the mixture through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer.
- Add honey to taste and stir until fully dissolved.
- Store the finished Fire Cider in a clean glass bottle in the refrigerator.
- Take 1-2 tablespoons daily or as needed. Can be taken straight, mixed with juice, tea, or added to dressings.
Notes
Adjust spice levels to your taste and feel free to personalize with herbs like rosemary or echinacea. Store in the fridge for up to 6 months.
