Description

This Caramel Apple Amish Bread is the perfect fall treat — filled with spiced apples, caramel bits, and topped with a gooey caramel drizzle. It’s cozy, cost-effective, and bound to become a seasonal favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk (for caramel drizzle)
  • ½ cup caramel sauce (for drizzling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, vegetable oil, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add wet mixture into dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in diced apples and caramel bits.
  6. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Begin checking around 45 minutes.
  8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For caramel drizzle: melt caramel sauce in microwave in 30-second bursts, stir in 2 tbsp cream or milk until smooth and pourable.
  10. Drizzle over cooled loaf, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith for balance. Don’t skip the drizzle — it makes all the difference!
