A cozy, old-fashioned casserole featuring tender egg noodles, savory ground beef, and creamy mushroom sauce baked under a golden cheese topping.

- 500 g ground beef
- 1 diced onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 12 oz (340 g) egg noodles
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella blend recommended)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water until just al dente, drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Layer half the noodles in the baking dish, then the beef mixture, followed by a mixture of soups and milk. Top with remaining noodles and shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 5–7 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving for easier slicing and serving.
Notes
Add a pinch of paprika, Worcestershire sauce, or even a spoonful of Dijon mustard for extra flavor. Frozen peas or green beans can be added for a veggie boost.
