Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened (for swirl)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir in flour and salt gradually until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle cinnamon mixture evenly. Roll it up and place seam-side down in the loaf pan.
- Cover and let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake the bread for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
To store, wrap cooled bread in foil or place in an airtight container. It stays fresh at room temp for up to 3 days or refrigerate for 5–6 days. Freeze whole or sliced in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. To reheat, toast individual slices or warm in a 300°F oven for 10 minutes.
