Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy using a mixer.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mash bananas until smooth with some small lumps.
- Stir mashed bananas and milk into the butter mixture.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Gently fold in optional chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use super ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender. Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth. Tent with foil if the top browns too fast.
